Your quilt top should be pressed and all loose threads removed from front
and back (seams that do not lay flat my cause tucks, pleats or fullness).
Squaring your quilt before sewing on your borders will also help prevent wavy
edges. Placing your quilt top on a hanger will help to keep if free from
wrinkles and fold lines.
Your quilt backing and batting must be 3-5 inches wider on each side and 3-5”
longer on each end than the quilt top. Remove the selvage ends on your
backing fabric and stitch your quilt back with a ½” seam allowance and press
seam(s) open (leaving your selvage attached may cause puckers). Place on a
separate hanger from quilt top. Bed sheets are not accepted for quilt
backing.
The quilting charge is based on the square inches of your quilt top. Measure
your quilt top in inches and multiply the length x the width. The price per
square inch is determined by the density and complexity of the quilting and
custom work. Any batting purchased from me will be an addition to the
quilting price. A setup fee may apply on small quilting jobs.
I look forward to helping you put the finishing touches on your special quilt.
